19 million BT residential customers can raise one pound each for ChildLine by taking part in the UK's biggest ever customer survey
If you are one of BT's 19 million residential customers now is your chance to tell BT what you "really really want" and raise money for ChildLine at the same time. In what is the UK's biggest ever customer survey, launched by TV personality and long-term ChildLine supporter, Ian Wright, BT is donating one pound to ChildLine for each survey completed and returned.
This week, in the first stage of distribution, BT's customer "census" is dropping through over four million letterboxes throughout the UK. However, it can also be completed immediately online at www.bt.com/yoursay
<http://www.bt.com/yoursay>
Commenting on the launch of the initiative, Ian Wright said: "All we're asking you to do is complete your BT questionnaire to help ChildLine help more kids. It's very simple, but if we all take the time to do it, we can raise loads of money for ChildLine's helpline. If you fill yours in ChildLine gets a pound, so imagine the huge difference to their work if we all join in! I'm asking you to please do your bit and take the time to complete it - as well as getting to have your say, you'll be helping more children and young people reach the help, comfort and protection they deserve."
Over the next nine months, every BT residential customer will receive a copy of the survey. With its customers' help, BT's contribution to ChildLine could make a major difference to the charity. For example, people in the North West alone could raise over two million pounds for ChildLine if every BT customer fills in and returns their survey. People in Scotland could raise over 1.5 million pounds if all the surveys are returned.
The four million pounds which could be raised by BT customers in Greater London alone could make it possible for ChildLine to help as many as 125,000 children. If everyone in Wales returns their completed survey, the 1.5 million pounds raised could enable ChildLine help as many as 47,000 children.
The survey, which will ask customers what they think BT could do better, what services they currently use, and the products and services they would like BT to offer in the future, is quick and easy to fill in. Customers simply fill in the form they receive and post it free of charge back to BT. Those wishing to complete the survey online, should make a note of their BT customer number and visit www.bt.com/yoursay
Angus Porter, managing director of BT Retail's Consumer Division, said: "We are very serious about improving customer service and this survey is an important step in finding out what our customers really want so we can make sure we are meeting their communications needs. As a 'thank you' to customers for taking the time to fill in our survey, we're delighted to be giving one pound to ChildLine for each one completed and returned. As we have 19 million residential customers we hope we will be making a very significant contribution which will go some way to helping ChildLine answer the call of every child who needs the advice and protection its counsellors can provide."
