Parents jailed for attacking headmistress

Home
John and Diana Bell have been sent to jail for threatening and terrorising their daughter’s headmistress.

When the terrified teacher called for help from colleagues they, too, became targets of the attack.

The row was caused because 12-year old Maxine had refused to remove a nose-ring which her headmistress had told her was against the rules to wear in school.

Her parents became so incensed on Maxine’s behalf that they turned up at the school to take it up with the headmistress themselves.

Relatives called their violent behaviour ‘out of character’, saying, they have never been in trouble before.’
