A man on the move
in more ways than one
Dr Tim Evans is a GP with a bit of a difference. Since completing his medical training at Westminster Hospital in 1979, his career has taken him all round the world to locations both dangerous and glamorous. For example, at the outset of his career Tim spent three years in Zimbabwe setting up and running a hospital on Lake Kariba in the Zambezi Valley. He was also instrumental in establishing a much-needed flying doctor service for the area. He later returned to Africa to canoe the length of the Zambezi raising funds for handicapped children. In recent years he has set up and coordinated Medical units on numerous film locations around the world looking after some of Hollywoods hottest stars.
Turning vision into reality
But the quality that sets Tim apart the most has to be his phenomenal vision.
Now based permanently in the UK, he is currently doing pioneering work in Telemedicine a new diagnostic facility that will enable remote monitoring of a patients vital signs in real time via a digital link. Providing instant reassurance and enabling on-site treatment, the technology has many potential benefits for anyone and everyone who travels extensively and needs access to regular medical assessment.
Commitment in practice
At the same Tim puts immense energy and zeal into running his own practice. He has been in private General Practice in South West London for the last 11 years. He has recently moved to new premises. Westover House is different and reflects Tims total commitment to the provision of a truly holistic approach to healthcare. For a very reasonable monthly fee, parents and their children can visit or phone Tim, two other GPs or a practice nurse as often as they need to. They can also access a range of conventional, as well as complementary specialists from dermatologists and gynaecologists to psychotherapists and homeopaths. In addition, the practice runs yoga and pilates courses and is set to provide a midwife-led delivery service in conjunction with a leading London teaching hospital in the near future.
Tims clinic is highly unusual in being so progressive and comprehensive. Its a culture hes deliberately created to encourage prevention rather than cure - and its a philosophy to which over 1,000 satisfied patients already subscribe.
